Are you a parent going through a divorce?
Check out our C.A.I.D (Child Advocate in Divorce) program.
C.A.I.D.’s mission is to prevent the potential psychological and emotional damage to children that arises from traumatic proceedings.
This St. Joseph County court ordered program was originated and designed by Dr. Sheehan in 1992 when the then judge George Beamer requested Dr. Sheehan’s assistance with his concern about the dangerous conflict of divorcing parents that repeatedly appeared in his court. Concerned about the danger to the emotional stability of the children, and danger to the future success of the parents as they continue to co-parent, if the conflict is not resolved.
Our C.A.I.D presentations and resources offer the opportunity for divorcing parents to learn how to avoid and then resolve issues that may cause conflict. We introduce them to specific areas of the divorce experience that have historically shown to have the highest potential of conflict.
Although the program was originally designed for divorcing parents, times have changed! We invite any parent (married or not, separated parents contemplating divorce, stepparents or partners entering a new relationship) to join our workshop to better understand the struggles that co-parents may experience.

Emphasis in the Parent Education and Training Workshop is placed on the risks divorce poses to children.
Attendants will leave the workshop with an understanding of healthy ways to deal with issues of divorce and an awareness of how they may unwittingly place their child in harm’s way.
During the webinar you will not be required to turn on your camera or microphone, however, we do expect active engagement in the workshop through chat, polls, activities and confirmed with a five-question quiz covering concepts from the workshop. Accommodations available.
